The Littleton City Council approved $75,000 in funding for the Revitalization Incentive Grant Program 2015. This is a matching grant program, which means that the applicant pays for the improvement and the City of Littleton reimburses a portion based upon the approved award. The program offers up to $15,000 in matching funds to businesses within the City of Littleton in order to improve the appearance of existing buildings constructed prior to 2005, as well as the overall look of the city. Larger projects with extensive renovations may be considered at a higher total award.
The goal of this program is to leverage private improvements while making revitalization efforts affordable, creative, and of benefit to the public realm. All work must be in areas visible from the public right-of-way and may include landscaping, signage, exterior lighting, architectural/design assistance, and parking area and façade improvements.
Other benefits include the potential elimination of permit fees, additional funding for extensive renovations, and bonus funding if a contractor is used who is located and licensed in the City of Littleton.
