More than two years after purchasing the historic Bussard Motor Company building at 2680 West Main Street, the Viewhouse restaurant opened on June 15. Taking care to preserve the original brickwork, the 12,500 square foot space has an ‘urban, downtown feel’, according to owner Francois Safieddine. Construction costs are estimated at $3 million. The business expects to employ 350.
Downstairs, a tavern bar seats 60, the dining area 140 more and the 2,000 square foot open air patio an additional 30 people. Upstairs, the indoor dining space accommodates 90 with capacity for 150 additional guests in the giant outdoor patio. True to its name, upstairs diners are treated to 180 degree views of downtown and the Rocky Mountains.
