Romano’s Restaurant Celebrates 50 Years in Littleton

Local favorite and Littleton landmark Romano’s Restaurant has been at 5666 So. Windermere since husband and wife Neil and Ellie Romano opened the business in 1967.  Their children Sue, Nick and John now run the restaurant.   The spirit of family permeates the restaurant’s long history in everything from the menu based on the family’s authentic Italian recipes to a practice of hiring hundreds of teens for their first jobs to supporting Littleton community service organizations like the Littleton Police Dog program, Be a Santa to a Senior and Project Angel Heart.   Over the years, the restaurant has hosted a number of celebrities including country star Garth Brooks and actors Jimmy Smits and Kevin James.  Local author and former employee Tom Adair features Romano’s in his thriller “The Scent of Fear”.   Many attending last week’s Western Welcome Week parade will remember that Neil and Ellie Romano were Grand Marshals of the parade in 2007.  Congratulations to the Romano family for fifty successful years operating the restaurant Westword magazine calls “the real deal, where family, food and tradition come together.”
